Coastal pines and live oaks grow fast and drop limbs faster. We trim them back from the roof, take down the ones that are dead, leaning or in the way, grind the stump, and haul the mess. Rock beds, mulch beds and drainage
Rock beds, mulch and French drains that move water away
Most of what we build on this coast is beds: white river rock around palmettos and live oaks, dark mulch with fresh plantings along a foundation, and gravel borders that take the splash off the siding. Landscape fabric goes down under the rock. When water is pooling against the house, a gravel French drain or a downspout drain line along the foundation carries it out to where it can soak in.
